Thanks Rodney, I will work harder on posting correctly. This is all new to me.
wow....that looks like a big sucker!...
Yea it weight around 450lbs and I think it is 105" x 45 " so its pretty big that is for sure :)
thank you for posting! Kornit has a rival finally.
They say that the production model due out in Spring will have a pretreat station mounted on it.

The rep at the SGIA show also said that the machine will be shipped fully assembled (stand seperate), so your workplace better have a door wide enough for the machine to fit through!
Hmmm I was reading Brian Walkers review on inkjet garment printers forum, and he said there was going to be a pretreatment station available also, but it sounded like it was a seperate unit, pricewise seperate from the machine as well. Maybe Rodney or Teresa can ask for us at the show tomorrow :)
BobbieLee, I was told that as well.
That there would be a pretreatment unit attached, or that it was a seperate unit? Thanks for clarifiying :) This is really interesting, I am wondering if it is a similar system to the kornit. The brother pretreat is dried before printing though correct?

Yeah the Brother is wet on dry process like the Dupont inks. Kornit sticking with its wet on wet process.
This is an awesome machine, it is amazing to watch it print 2 shirts at once with the print heads going different directions. Can't wait til they come out. I have to have one.
Did not ask about the pretreatment but I am sure it will be a separate unit.

Now I have to get double doors:(
Joey...I think the price is 50-55k USD
55K / Huge printer. Some of my folks could hide inside it. I think it is extra large so they are not limiting thier options for new add on's.

To make it the best printer it needs the following.

It needs to print both platens at the same time , so we can print one larger surface when needed.
It needs 2 sets of print heads, to increase productions.
It needs to use UV ink and uv cure. Good-by heater, hello profit.
If same type of white ink is required then it must pretreat in the same motion.
They must configure it to due all the extras, Shoes, Hats, etc.
Maybe it needs to make me lunch. smile

I will be buying one at 55K but folks it has a lot of room for improvement.

i wonder if it can be reconfigure to print bigger size ! ( rather than just 16 by 18 ! ) 1m by 1m will be good ! :D:D
i see there is a lot of room between the 2 platens ! can this be changed to one big platen and print BIG BIG PRINT ? :D
I think there is enough room to print 50" wide and 30" deep. It's all in the software.
It will not print across both platens (to create one super large platen). There is a pole that comes down that separates the two platens that prevent this. You might be to open it up and slide something in and position the platens, but I am not sure.

I got a pretty good tour of the printer and it is pretty nice prototype. The best feature that I think this printer is how they can suck the ink out of the lines back into the cartridges. The ink lines are pretty long (at least 5 feet long) and it would be big $$$ if you had to flush them down the lines. So Brother put a feature in the printer that sucks the ink back into the cartridge so you don't lose the ink. Brillant idea!

This is the first step of many to come (hopefully sooner than later) that will improve the dtg market. Looking forward to the changes.

I picked up a sample from EACH DTG printer at the show. I cut each shirt in half and have washed and dried the same half 3 times and I'm very please with all of them. By Sunday night I will have washed and dried these samples 12 times . I will take pictures these shirts next to the half I didn't wash and will post each for all to judge.

I saw that little metal post between the platens but it could be removed. Remember it is just a proto-type.
