I was just wondering if there is a way to make a permanent screen for water based printing? Maybe some type of plastic other than the typical emulsion?
Using a emulsion hardener would work well with a emulsion for water base inks. That way the emulsion is highly unlikley to come out after repeated washed and uses.
Yeah I've read up on hardeners before but they eventually will start wearing out and losing definition. I was wanting something that is permanent as in 10 years from now I could still be making shirts with the same screen with no definition loss.
Hardeners use properly will last a long time. You will be more likely to loose tension and get bad prints then loosing emulsion. I have some sceens that are 2-3 years with images some with harder and some without neither has lost any definition but all have lost tension.
I have been "selling" screens to one of my customers to save designs that they know they will be using over and over again, and so far, just double exposing, (exposing, washing out, drying, and exposing again) has worked well for me. I was just saying hardeners casue I know they can be used.
