Hi
I have massive collection of cdr files that need to turn in to decent catalog, for example 10 designs on sheet with their file name under them.
Is there easy way to do this or do I really have to collect all designes manually in to one document and resize them and give them a name and then convert it to pdf?
How do the graphics sellers do that?

And one more.
I have few pdf catalogs from graphic sellers, but they are editable, I meen if you open them using CorelDraw the images are vectors and can be hijacked.
How do I make these editable pdf files to not-editable?

Convert all your images to low res jpegs and convert all fonts to curves. Then from your PDF options menu, select "PDF for document distribution."

This will result in a read-only PDF with no editable vectors or type.

Thank you.
I explain what I did so far.
I opened the pdf in corel, multipage corel document appears.
Then i select all designs on each page and convert them to bitmap.
After each page is converted I save each page as AI(program allowes only one page to saved as AI)
Then I open each new AI file in Illustrator and save as PDF, so I get multible PDF files.
Then it is just pdf with bitmap on it, and i will work when I need to re-do only few of the editable pdf-s but in generally there should be some easyer way to do this... I hope.

If I understand correctly, you just want a picture of each design you have on one page, in your case you want 10 designs on one page. A quick mode to do this is, first created a folder where you going to store all the files, then you need to created a jpeg, png, bitmap, etc, from each of one of your designs with the name, code, etc, second once you have all the desired files on your folder, select all and hit print this will open a print pictures window, and from printer menu select corel pdf creator or any other pdf creator, last on the right side make your choice, 3.5x4 will print 4 pictures on each page, wallet (9) and contact sheet (35) and you will have something like this ( see attachment ). Hope I explain myself. One thing this is on windows I don't know on a mac

This is what i need, thank you.
Cdr files in to jpg - easy
select all jpg, select print, pdf creator, slelect multible pictures on sheet- easy
And what I noticed that if I choose two- four picture to one page then my pdf creator does not add the file names, but if I make 30pictures on one sheet then the program adds the filenames to the pictures-great. it is a bit two much pictures on one page but I think I have to play with the settings.
Really nice advice, thank you.

Learning every day ;)
Opened my editable pdf in Corel, converted all the pages in to bitmap, and (TODAYS FIND) File-Publish to pdf- did what I needed, turned my file in to multible page pdf. Non-editable now.
No illustrator needed :)
Thanks to all who had a moment with my problem!

Instead of "Open With" and selecting Illustrator, have you tried launching a new file in Illustrator and then placing (called "importing" in Corel Draw) the PDF into your open file? I'm not real familiar with Illustrator, but in Corel this would automatically create as many pages as the document requires.

But how do they do the catalogs in graphic companies?
I dont think that they do more then one or two clicks to create a one pdf catalog.
Having palyed with the print jpg to pdf options I understand this can be ok but I would like more options- for example instead of 35 graphics on one page I need 10 graphics with filenames included and with right size and so on.

You can password protect a PDF file in CorelDRAW. Use publish to PDF option in the file menu. Click Settings button before saving the file. Click the Security tab. Click Permission check box. Type in the password and confirm it. Click the Printing permission drop down menu. Click High Resolution so the user can print the file. It is up to you if you want copying of text, images and other contents when the user right click on part of the page then click copy. If you allow the objects copied then click the Enable check box. Click OK then Save buttons.

That way you don't have to convert each object to bitmap. You can always edit the vector images but the file cannot be edited without the password.

They probably use Adobe InDesign....It is much more suitable for preparing multi page files than an illustration program....
