Im trying to outline some text in coreldraw 4 and i only want it to cut the outline text, how would you do this?thanks Gary
Get your outline size to what you want. If you are going to work with a white outline it helps to go into "Layout" and change the background color. Once you are ready to convert make sure your text is selected and go to "Arrange" next to "Layout". Near the bottom you will see the "Convert Outline to Object" option. Click that. Once that is done select the text color (example, you started with black text and a blue outline select the black). Delete the black. You should have your outline remaining which would be blue in the example used. If you are working with a white outline you won't be able to see what is left over if you didn't change the page background color to something other than the default white. Your outline is now an object that you can apply an outline color to. In this case I presume that would be your cutcontour color. How exactly do you do that?
Contour is in Corel under the effects menu.In corel i deleted the background color so all is left is the outline but when i try and send it to my cutter it just cuts it out normal with no outline.I just wanted it to cut the outline around the text and when i would weed it ,i would take the middle out and leave the outline.Thats what im trying to do but for some reason its not doing it,i dont have contour cutting on my plotter.
thanks ,Gary
Thanks for going over that for me with detail since im new to all thisHere it is laid out, step by step.
I used a rectangle in the attached sample, but lettering is same principle.
