Hi friends!

First time poster - I hope I am adhering to the rules!

I have long been wanting to get into screen printing, and found a website here in New Zealand that offers affordable equipment. I was wondering if any of you would mind taking a look and seeing if it seems legitimate. There isn't much to go by in the photos unfortunately. I am a little wary because the website (and the "sale" prices) haven't changed for a couple of years...

Any help is appreciated!

The link to the website: Screen Printing Machines

Thank you!

That is just the cheap chinese stuff that is being sold in every country on ebay.
Not particularly good quality. Maybe ok as a starter press, but you won't progress very far with any of them.

Don't know much about the NZ currency rates, but to give you an idea the 4 colour 1station presses are being sold for £108 on ebay in the UK.

Hi PatWibble,

Thanks very much for replying!

Ok, that's what I was afraid of. The 4-colour, 1-station press on that website is £390, which is quite expensive for a low-quality machine.

I appreciate your help!

It might be worth taking a chance with trying to source that direct from China. You should be able to find it for well under half the NZ price, with all shipping and duty paid.

Like I said before, ok as a starter press, to see if you take to screen printing. It will be good enough for one colour prints and reasonable for multi colour prints that don't require close registration.
You will struggle if you try to print anything that requires close registration between colours. The lack of micro registration means that the only adjustment you will have will be by moving the screen in the clamps.

Alternatively there are posts on the forum about diy 'line presses' if you feel like making something.
