Hey, I'd say the simpler the better. Your shirts have a ton going on, so I personally would go with a black or solid color background, or a least a subtle pattern. That way people are focusing on the shirts.

I think BigCartel is really cool, but I haven't had much time to play the layout options. I've only done an overly simple sample store for a summer camp who wanted a free option for selling shirts online.
