Hello My goal is to print photo pictures onto black t-shirts using opaque paper using a okidata 3200. If i buy a stock oki printer using the stock ink it comes in would I be able to print photos on it to transfer on t-shirts? Like around how many full color prints on a regular paper transer would I be able to print with the stock ink? I also heard you get lower cost of ink per transfer and the transfers are cheaper. Also what opaque paper is compatible with this printer. Please help me. THANKS!

The number of prints you get from the starter cartridge will vary by the image. Overall on our starter set, we got about 300 transfers.

We have found no opaque material that I will sell. Some inkjet opaque is only fair. All crack. MagicTouch has an opaque paper that seems to be at the top of the pack. Not to be discouraging, but I just do not feel the technology is quite there yet.

300 transfers, full size.. this is on an Okidata printer? That is a lot.. We are lucky to get 100 from any epason printer.. How big are the inks on that thing.. and what ink is it, dye? And Ron is close to correct.. they do not all crack. I use the thinest opaque I found on the market and that is blue grid fro Coastal Business. here is picture of a shirt with opaque transfer hanging on the clients kiosk

There is a new white toner that is comming out in about 2-3 weeks that will work on the Okidata 5200 and 3200 printers. It's a 2 step process. Print your image on the color printer, then run it through the white printer to get the white background. Yes, it takes 2 printers. I haven't seen it yet, but talking to some one who's opinion I greatly respect that has actually had the chance to use it, it works really great. It is a true dys sub, so it doesn't have the cracking problem of opaques or flaking of DTG. I have already placed my order and am on the waiting list. I'll let ya'll know how it works as soon as I get some test prints.

The biggest draw back is that your limited to 8 1/2 wide paper with that printer. In about a year or so they will be comming out with a toner package for a wide format laser printer, but that'll be a while.

I've heard of thast white toner and an also waiting for it. Can't wait for your testing results so i can order my printer also. It suppose to be the next generation of transfer printing with no hand on dark t-shirts.
