Oki c610n toner: Generic vs OEM?

I have recently purchased an Oki c610. I have purchased my first replacement set of toner (ouch). Does anyone out there have experience with using a generic toner, versus the OEM toner? If so, would you recommend or not recommend the generic? I have seen issues with the cartridge not being recognized, etc. I use Techniprint 4.0, Image Clip and the new Techniprint EZP in my printer. I do very little printing on plain paper, so I don't care if it's as glossy as the OEM toner. Thanks!
