please does anyone have any others suggestions?

there are 3 things that i am aware of when the print head moves, but no ink comes out. 1) the F6 fuse on the motherboard is blown. 2) the ribbon cables are either bad or just aren't fully seated into the connections. 3) your head is clogged/full of air. there may be other reasons, but these are the top 3 that i know.
thank you number 3 haven't looked at yet...

will try the print head thank you very much

Call NeoUncle.
He will jump on you like hawk. Tigers : keep calling, I know the time difference but best way is keep calling. 4 week down is not acceptable at all. Skype and use cell # now.
Tell operator you are calling from UK. And stay on line.
Cheers! Are you coming to FESPA?
When performing a cleaning cycle is there ink going into the capping station?

Did you prime the dampers when you replaced the printhead?

Will your printer print a nozzle check through the LCD display?
Give me a call Frank.

This is where you'll find the F6 fuse. In the picture it shows a way to replace the surface mounted fuse with a fuse that's more accessible.

Four weeks is a long time to have ink sitting in the Neo and in itself will create problems!

Is the capping station okay? If you have an air leak around the cap, cleanings will just not work and no ink will show also, the head will dry out.

There are many things to try to get you working again.

HI JOHN

you are my hero, will give them ago and let you know how i get on, back online this afternoon i hope

many thanks to all advice...

;)
the capping station is working fine and when cleaning the capping station is pulling ink through so the head has not dried out, just no ink comes out when printing...
If ink is evident in the cap when carrying out simple or powercleans that sort of takes a bit out of the equation.

It seems to point more toward an electrical issue:

Fuses - F6 in particular.
Ribbon cables - are they fully inserted? Check there are no fold backs of the track - quite common.

John
Hi john

the ribbon cables 4, 5, 6, have all been replaced with new ones and have checked cables 7, 8,

the f6 fuse, i was asked to check with voltage meter and was getting a good reading...

Really stuck on this one,

i will give you a call at 3:30 if this is ok with you?

Yup, just ring Frank.

When you say a volt meter, I guess you had it set to measure ohms/resistance? If F6 fuse has blown it would show open circuit - the opposite of you connecting the two probes together.

Have you checked the 0 & 00 cables to the printhead itself? As you probably know, these ribbon cables run from the printhead to a junction beneath the front metal panel. From there, they carry on to the motherboard.

Also F1 & F2 fuses. Note, these fuse pictures were provided by another forum poster

I know it sounds daft but do check all the power connectors to the motherboard - all connections really as it's east to snag your hand on one and unintentionally pull it loose.

Is there a red blinking light on the motherboard? That's also a good indication it could be the motherboard. I'm down. The ribbon cables were corroded, changed them I'm pretty sure it corroded the print head also and now I have a blinking light on the mother board which I read on another post that's an indicator the motherboard is bad. So I have reordered new ribbon cables, print head and motherboard and will start with changing out the ribbon and print head. If no change then I will have to do the motherboard. Not a pleasant task. John has documented replacing the motherboard in one of his posts. I have saved it but I don't want to use it.... No offense John.
We haven't been able to print for over a week because I accidentally got ink on the ribbon cables to the print head? Very, Very, rookie mistake and costly. If this doesn't fix it I'm out of business before I even get started. So sad.

i dont have a red flashing light but i do have a oragne flashing light on the motherboard where the serial cable goes into (small light on inside attached but above motherboard).

Is this supposed to flashing like this?

I have attached pic's to show...

Mine looks red but that doesn't mean anything. They could be in the same spot. Check out the thread "printer not communication" and they have pictures there and look similar to mine. Good luck!
Any progress Frank?
We had the exact same problem after changing a plugged up printhead. We changed ribbon cables mother board and printhead.Nothing we did could get the printhead to fire.We did numerous cleans and the print head still would not fire any ink. Finally
we did an f4 clean and let it sit for a while and the printhead finally started to print again.
Not much logic in that is there Doug!

I've often found that walking away for a few hours or leaving overnight seems to solve some issues - weird -it's as if something times-out and resets after a certain time period.
