Hello, Need Help!!! Just bought this anajet mp5 printer and no black ink on nozzel check . It was stored for a couple months with solution in it and when ink was put back in printer the black would not print. What should I do?:
look at your print boards. check to see if there are 2 green lights on each board. if you are missing a green light or if you see one red do the following:

first, check your head voltages.

menu - diagnostics - read head voltage press enter -

all voltages should be between 19-22

if you see your voltage for any of the boards at 0

go back to the previous menu - go back to read head voltage but click the right arrow key until you hit "calibrate head voltages" hit enter.

If it was unsuccessful it will tell you on the screen. try it again. if it is unsuccessful again

if it continues to be unsuccessful then one of your boards may be loose. If it isnt off already, take off the printhead cage

reinsert all print head boards firmly

try calibrate heads again.

if the calibration was successful it will just go back to the diagnostic menu. hit the left arrow key to "read head voltages" and check to see if everything is in the 19-22 range.

Where is the location of the black ink in the black ink lines? If the ink is all the way to the dampers?

I would run another 20sec start up fill.

Those dampers need to have ink in them, then the system needs to pressurize before ink will flow with a good nozzle check. Are you other channels giving good nozzle checks?

the black is no were near the damper. There is some black ink just after the cartridge but there is a lot of air in line. and when you run a "start up fill" the black dosent move in the line. the other colors are pretty good as far as nozzle check but not perfect..

I would pull one of the lines from the damper and use a syringe or something to see if you can move the ink from the cartridge. If that doesnt work, the it sounds like the valve thats located near the cartridge is clogged. If it moves freely the reconnect that line and take one of the lines off of the head and do the same ( try and suck the ink) to check the damper and all of those valves. If that moves freely, then it sounds like there is dried up ink inside the head, and its not letting any air or ink pass through the head. Its really important to know how your other channels are checking out too. How does the nozzle checks look on the other channels. It would be odd to have a cmyk channel to clog from dried ink before a white channel.

(be careful when removing the ink line from the head. you can snap that little fitting thats on the head right off) I usually cut my tube right above it, the cut the little pieces off of that little fitting. Then you will have a fresh piece of tube to reconnect when you ready.
