I re-tightened the mesh washed them with water and applied
some de-hazer an alkaline paste with this sort of grainy sand like texture covered the screen and was supposed to wait around 10-15 min before washing off but around the 8-9 min mark the mesh split.

looking at the broken mesh I could see the paint left over image still there..I worked it with a soft brush and washed the paint off so I know this haze does work.

where did I go wrong here I did this to two screen thinking the first one must have been some a one off thing.

Using a proper scrub brush, scrub both sides of the screen and immedietly rinse off with pressure.

If there is still a haze or objects blickibg the screen, re apply on both sides and let sit for 1 min and rinse. Sounds like the time sitting is way too long.

If it happens again, contact your sales rep for instructions or switch to another product.

I'd +1 suggestions to apply to a wet screen.

Keep an eye on what you touch your screens with, as well--a lot of the times, you put a good scratch in mesh, the caustic eats away just a tiny bit of thread, but it's enough that the mesh won't hold anymore.

Screen Foo has a good point.

Also, nothing like a caustic should stay on a screen for an extended period. The sit and it split by itself scenario had to be from the chem eating into a fiber or more fibers likely. Sometimes ya live with a stained screen. or eat it and remesh.
