Hi to all
I am new to this sublimation printing and pressing.
we bought cheap epson wf-2010 and city inks dye subli cssi system and a 5 in 1 press to see how we get on. we have been doing t-shirts and hoodies and other things with the silhouette cameo with vinyl but thought we would try printing instead.
so far in the last week we have tried doing t-shirts and mugs with subli paper and heat transfer paper for some friends with great results.
would love to know how to go about marketing ourselfs to try and make a reasonable small home business.

Mike, welcome to T-shirtforums.
Is it not great when you hand a t to a friend and the eyes go big with that "How did you do that?" expression.

There are many videos published by venders selling stuff to shirt decorators with titles like 'How to start a T-shirt' business. You will find them incredibly benefical. So go to youtube and type in the right words.

Your question "How to market ourselves so we can make a bunch of money?" is asking to know the best kept secrets. And how to market a company is MORE IMPORTANT that the product produced.

What I would do in your place is make sure every shirt I give away makes me money.
How?
#1. Make sure the recipient know the reasion they are not paying is because you are buying their lips for their word of mouth value.
#2. Make sure your URL is visible on those FREE shirts. The content of the shirt should be designed to compel an action on those free shirts.

Here is a activity that will be a real eye-opener for you. Make a shirt (black, white text)
Say THIS out loud
Go where their are eyeballs. Grocery, tourist area, park, trail. Count the eyeballs that read and the number of times you hear THIS. (hint:that is a converison measure of the power of t advertising)
You will re-evaluate where and how to market your shop. Even better, you will be modeling the proposition you make to other business owners.

Best of success in converting your interests into a money making business.

Thank you will be looking on you tube for videos. It has taken me years to get my wife to start trying to make some money from her crafting as she lacks the self confidence in her own abilities she has made some fantastic things in the past
