Hey guys,

we are a decal co. expanding in to t shirts. I think I have this setup sort of correct. Keep in mind I am brand new to all of this.

We want to do non apparel items as well, so we got a die sublimation setup that i believe can also do color art on white cotton tees, correct?

We also have a dedicated chromoblast printer that I'm not sure will get much use, as it is only good on color poly's or polyblends?

Thirdly, for doing simple things like one color images or logos, etc on any color shirt, we can use a regular inkjet with dark jet transfer and then press?

again, this is my initial setup, so I am sure I am wrong about some (or all) of this.

Any help would be greeeeeaaaaatly appreciated!

You will have to use 100% polyester T-shirts for dye sub...cotton won't work.

did i have it backwards? Die sub for poly and Chromoblast for cottons? Im mainly confused on what the heck chromoblast actually is and does.

Chromablast is an ink from Sawgrass Technologies. The inks are made for only certain printers. We have a Ricoh with Sawgrass Chromablast inks and it works great. It works best with 100% white cotton garments and achieves some very nice color. We use a darkjet transfer paper for darker garments.

Hi. yeah, I have 2 of the Ricoh 3110dn's.

So chromoblast for white polyester not cotton correct?

and darkjet transfer for any other color cotton tee?

The Chromablast is for cotton and the Sublijet is for poly. Both are from Sawgrass. We use the DarkJet paper with the Chromablast inks. It works good with dark cotton garments and poly but it is a heavier transfer. Here is a link. I hope it helps:
