Newbie from Ft Worth!

I am new to the Vinyl cutting world and am excited and anxious to get started. I just purcahsed a GCC XL24 Vinyl machine and plan on doing my first cut this week. Any tips on the software? It doesnt appear to be user friendly or do you create in another software and just import into Great Cut to do the actual cut?
