To become the biggest silkscreen-er in the world is my plan, I should also add I've never silkscreen-ed a shirt in my life.

Those are my plans,

How old are you?

Doing screen printing and owning a printing business are not quite the same. One requires more technical skills or know how. The later, more business acumen and perseverance. Both requires hard work. If being the biggest screenprinter in the world is a plan, you should have a firm idea on what you want and a general idea on how to get there. Most of the problems you need to tackle are those that will get you back on track. Without a plan, it is a dream with ideas firming up along the way. You may need to make more changes as time goes by.

Getting into screen printing (hands-on) should be helpful either as a printer or a businessman. Being the biggest is fine but it comes with its share of problems. Being among the best and being happy in what you do is great enough.

A plan or a dream?

Welcome and good luck.

Hey Angel,

Thanks for your positive and informative feedback. This has been a dream for me and my partner being my father. I've have started a business plans, including marketing, finances, goals with a plan.

I plan on doing printing and expanding a team as we grow. Giving me a chance to overview the business aspects and create tactics to grow.

thanks for the welcome BroJames,

I'm 27 of age and a pisces which makes me a dreamer :) not to mention artistic and emotional :p

I always found when setting large goals it helps to also have short term and mid term goals in addition to the long term goals. Also it is important to write them down and read them often if not daily. Also if you really want to be serious about achieving goals you should have a real burning desire to do so.

In your case you could write down a short term goal (and date) of when you want to learn enough skills to actually start the business.

You can then set a short to mid term goal as to when you intend to become the largest in your town.

You then could set a long term goal of becoming the largest your state, and even longer one of largest in your country, and then your farthest out goal of becoming the largest in the world.

As time goes on and you proceed in your short term goals don't be afraid to adjust and modify your longer term goals as you learn more about what you like, desire and better understand what your strengths and weaknesses are.

Your short term goals should be very specific with a plan. Your longer term plans less exact in details but rather a direction you intend to head. Kind of like carefully watching where you walk when hiking so you don't stumble, while always heading towards the large mountain far off in front of you. If you spent too much time just thinking about climbing the mountain peak and don't watch where you step, you might trip over something right in front of you. Along the way you might also discover that when you had dipped down into a valley, you discovered the most beautiful lake and decide you would be much happier to just stay there instead of your original goal of climbing to the mountain peak.

I wish you well.

At 27 you should be standing on firmer ground with your dreams. Do wish you and your father the best and hope we hear something "big" soon.

I don't know anything about this young man, but I wouldn't discourage him or anyone else because of their age. I do believe twenty-seven was the same age Sam Walton opened his first store. Leonard Shoen founded U-haul at the age of twenty-nine, Ray Kroc opened his first McDonalds at fifty-three, and there are countless other examples like this.

I am sorry if my words are not clear but they were meant to encourage.

Why do you want to become the biggest screen printer in the world? What is behind this goal?
