It is a way to decorate fabric (and other substances), similar to traditional heat transfers.

However, the fabric must have a majority of synthetic materials in its makeup. ie polyester, spandex, rayon etc.

The process uses the heat of a heat press to convert the sublimation inks into a gass that DYE's the fibers of the fabric as opposed to fusing it to the fabric like a traditional transfer.
