New to this, but what is frayed and hand distressed?

Found this forum and boy does it contain a wealth of information. I had some questions as I am new to this t-shirting thing.

What is frayed? Is that the same as grinding the edges?

What is hand distressed?

And for discharged printing is there a specification on the fabric that the shirt needs to be on?

Look forwarding to hearing from the replies.

God bless.

Hi-

Grinding on the edges means that the edges are "distressed"- torn up, frayed, made to look worn, have small tears and weathering, etc.

Hand-distressed means the same thing- just that it is done "by hand", as in an individual person distresses each shirt by hand. It just tells you how the process is done so that you know that each shirt is unique.
