New to the game

Dear Members,

I work for a UK based charity in London and we have been asked to produce some T-shirts with images from our projects in Africa and Kashmir. They are photographs and black and white. We need the best quality but we have no idea how we establish what the best quality is without spending the money (and then we could be wrong!). I think we have got the T-shirt side sorted out (American Apparel organic) but which is the best system for quality black and white photographs: transfer, screen or digital? And are there variations within each of these methods? Any help or pointers with this would be gratefully received. The charity does of course have a web site but I am not clear if we are allowed to post it. Would it be considered self-promotion?
