Don't bother with the continuous inks, buy refillable cartridges & the bulk ink bottles.

Thanks for your reply debz1959 Can you point me in the right direction to what ones to get and were to buy as i say i am completely new to this.
I have been doing this for over 13 years...and I dont use CIS nor refillable carts.. I bite the bullet, buy sublimation ink in carts...saves aggravation and I just charge accordingly...In UK I suspect you have choices of Sawgrass, Artainium or Rotech....just avoid Chinese sublimation ink unless you are VERY experienced in making a correct ICC profile..

Hey guys

After reading through the forum I am now completely lost so i will explain what i have and want to do and you kind guys can tell me what i need.

This is what i have
Canon Pixma Pro 9000 Mll - A3
Epson PX650 - A4
Epson B1100 - A3
5 in 1 Heat Press - T Shirts,Caps,Plates,Cups

This is what i want to do with them

I want to be able to print
T shirt,caps,Plates,Cups,Acrylic,Glass,canvas and anything else i can.

Can i use the ink that comes with the Epson printer for any of the above?
If not what types of ink do i need to print on to
T Shirts
Plates & Cups
Acrylic & Glass

Sorry if i sound lost its because i am  i never realised there is so much different inks and systems to use

I thought this was a forum were you came for help so please can anyone answer my question:confused:
I would advise you to start running trials. You will see that much of it you'll figure out right away!
If there's something you just can't figure out, then place the specific question in the forum.

:º)
To do sublimation...you need sublimation inks as I stated...for white/light garments that are 100% polyester. For cotton garments you need a pigment ink and white or light garments. I am not aware of any transfer paper that is commercially viable for dark garments.... To answer your questions...I have made my answers opposite your questions...bear in mind that this is just my experience.

This is what i have
Canon Pixma Pro 9000 Mll - A3 A fairly good printer for photos...not for garment decoration or dye sub
Epson PX650 - A4 I am not familiar with this printer but IF it has pigment ink...ok for garments
Epson B1100 - A3 A very good printer...the OEM inks are pigment and will also be good for dye sub
5 in 1 Heat Press - T Shirts,Caps,Plates,Cups BI am not a fan of the combo presses but should work

This is what i want to do with them

I want to be able to print
T shirt,caps,Plates,Cups,Acrylic,Glass,canvas and anything else i can.

Can i use the ink that comes with the Epson printer for any of the above?
If not what types of ink do i need to print on to Some Epsons do not have pigment ink...like the 1400 which has Claria ink...great for photos...not for garment transfers
T Shirts-If using an Epson..use Pigment inks
Plates & Cups This where you need sublimation inks...you cannot switch back and forth with the same printer. For Dye Sub you need a dedicated printer...and an appropriate heat press. Remember if doing plates, cups, you need a product that has the polymer coating for the dye sub ink
Acrylic & Glass Don't know about acrylic...but with glass...you need a polymer coating...

Fire back if you have other questions

I saw this and wondered if it would be any good for cutting out my designs. It can cut vinyl so i thought if it does that then it should be able to cut A4 or A3 dark t shirt transfers as they are peel off stickers and are Vinyl in a sense am i correct in saying so

eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace

Thanks

If you're planning to print your designs and then contour cut around them, you'll need a cutter with an optical eye. I don't think that cutter has this feature and I'm not familiar with it or the artcut software.

For getting started in that price range, MDP sells a Cameo cutter with an optical eye. The software is fairly easy to use too.

I'm not familiar with the brand, but that looks like the right stuff at a fair price. Keep in mind that the listing is for the inks only and you'll still need to buy a CIS system if you haven't already.

I have refillable cartridges so i should be able to top them up when needed ye?
So they both look good and if you were to buy what one would you go for .

Thanks again

I've never had the refillable cartridges, but I'd imagine they'll work just fine. You may eventually want the ease of a continuous ink system, but the main thing is getting started, have fun!

Thanks for your help if i get stuck can i call on you for assistance.

The ink would appear to be pigment ink and if so would be okay for regular inkjet transfer BUT NOT for sublimation...which requires sublimation inks
