Hi All,

I've been designing shirts for about a year now, Just purchased my Epson F2100, Pretreat Machine and Heat Press and set up shop in my garage.

Looking forward to being a part of the forums to both learn as much as I can about DTG Printing from those with lots of experience and offering any advice that I can to share with others about my trial and error learning the ins and outs of designing, printing and running my own shop..

Best,
Chimpster

Some DTG advice.

Your printer prints water based ink so it should be set up in a mild controlled environment. If it gets real hot (or even real cold) in your garage that could cause some flow troubles with the thin ink that DTG's use.

Also, all DTG's need to be in an environment of about 40 humidity or more for the same reasons.

Congrats on the F2100 purchase. I am that sure you'll be thrilled to print on it. :)

Hi Geno,

Thanks for the tips! My space is a single car garage and it's 9'.5'' X 20'. It's sheetrocked and I weatherstripped the exteriors of the doors to help with temperature controls, dust and dirt. I did also purchase a humidifier from Home Depot to keep the printer running smoothly.

I'm still in practice mode but things seem to be working thus far. My only hiccup has been some pretreat issues but I have a new wide spray valve and filter coming today from the guys at Equipment Zone. They'll also have a guy here the week of the 21st to do my training and fine tuning of the equipment.

Thanks again,
Mike
