New to screen printing, need advice

We've had DTG and Embroidery for about 2 years and we're looking to add screen printing. Does anyone have advice about brands of equipment you would recommend or would stay away from? You can pm me if you don't feel good about saying bad things about anyone. I just need to know.

Thanks,
Bruce

Are you looking at manual presses or auto presses? What kind of volume do you want to print an hour? There is equipment ranging from simple one-color wood table-top presses up to 20 color automatics that can print over 1K shirts per hour. I am sure you are looking for something in between, so perhaps a bit more information about what you want would help.
Bruce, there is so much to offer when it comes to screen printing equipment. with our experience workhorse, vastex seem to be a wonderful line and happy customers. we also carry a beginner line as well. I recomment you find somewhere that has the equipment for you to see how it's constructed and go from there. Good luck and let me know if you need any help.

Yes, We're looking at manual to begin with and around 72 shirts per hour. Then see where that takes us.
For a manual, look at the Antec Legend...I have had two along with national and workhorse presses. IMO the Antec is hands down the finest manual on the market..looks around for a used one.

For a dryer, the M&R Economax is a good one.
I own a used Hopkins International press and if it were a woman i'd marry it. Seriously.
I think that you should look at workhorse. I think that a 6 color 4 station would be great to start with. You dont want to limit yourself to 4 colors because you will get that customer who wants a 5 to 6 color job. I we all know you dont want to turn any work down now days. The work horse is a very durable machine. They have great micros and they hold great registration. They also have tons of add ons avalible.
Thanks for all the responses so far. We're trying to make an informed decision and it may be about 6 months before we buy so keep those caards and letters coming. We need all the information we can get.

With what it sounds like you will be doing I would second and say a Workhorse may be your best bet.
