I am in the market for a 24" vinyl cutter. I need it to make rhinestone templates and also to make heat transfers for shirts and other items that can be heat pressed. I need a cutter that will actually cut around the designs and all I have to do is weed. I don't want anything cheap or loud, but I don't want to overpay for one either. Also, design software that someone actually uses and can tell me what works well for rhinestone templates. Thanks!

The Roland GX-24 is an excellent cutter for what you are looking to do. As for software, I would recommend Roland's Rhinestone software RWear...

As one of the first buyers of RWear softwear I have to say it is outdated now and certainly limited in drivers for different machines/systems
I will agree that the GX 24 is a good entry machine, and the absolutely the easiest to use in contour cutting but I think it is overpriced...check out GCC or even the Zing.. I think it has some sort of eye..maybe not optic but will contour cut
Any machine will cut vectors so all you need to do is weed....Contour cutting is usually used to contour cut around a bitmap.note I said usually...not always

Gcc cutters and Winpcsign2012 is a really good combo and they work well together for cutting and rhinestone templates, a lot of people will say the same. Do your due diligence before making a purchase.
