Hi, my name is Chris. I just got my first heat press and tried to press a shirt but got a big burn square where the press came into contact. Would that be too much pressure, or too much heat?

By the way I have found that you can make great quesadillas with a heat press, heat it up to about 350 degress and use foil to sandwhich the quesadilla to protect the press.

Hi Chris,
My guess is too much TIME.
Temp. between 300-350 should be ok. Time usually between 12-18 seconds! Avg. time I use is 15 seconds. Pre-press the shirt to remove any moisture (approx. 4 secs.) then put your transfer on and press with a medium pressure. Start there.
I am not sure about food preparations!
Good luck.
