There are tons of free tutorial posted by @AdvancedArtist. He also sells CorelDRAW utility tools that will help you design in CorelDRAW.

Corel has a channel on youtube. There are also other great tutorials on youtube, just search for CorelDraw. For the basics, version doesn't matter. The basic functions have been the same for years.

Illustrator is a better comparison to CorelDraw. Corel PhotoPaint is the Photoshop comparison. I like Draw over Illustrator but PhotoPaint isn't as packed as Photoshop, but I hardly design in raster.
