New to Business - please give me feedback on my site

Hello I am new to the business and looking for some feedback. My online store is up and running and I am adding new designs each week.

I recently attended a high profile college football game and my buddies and I were wearing my brand and also selling a few shirts out of the back of my truck. That isn't how I want to make my living, but I will tell you it was great for feedback on my designs. There's nothing like drunk college kids to tell you whether they love or hate your design(s).

I was wondering what else I can be doing as far as advertising? Is it worth it to place ads in local newspaper? College newspaper? Hang flyers?

Thanks for all of your help. This site has been invaluable in helping me to start my brand.

Re: New to Business

Hey. The answer to your question is yes to all of it! There isn't a silver bullet with one type of advertizing/marketing. When I started http://www.reflectyourpower.comour business we did a large ad in a national magazine which yielded good results but is VERY expensive. We are now doing things like Free Press releases, getting the story of how we started out into magazines, ads in local newspapers, on-line blogs, on-line networking sites etc. etc. You have to do a lot to see what works. You need to stay in front of your target audience over and over so that they recognize you as a brand. Good luck!
I like the site...And also the designs...It must have cost you a fortune to pay for the rights of the Colts and the old Pats logo though...However with the right marketing, they should sell just fine...Good luck and have fun;)
It's simple, clean & easy to navigate. I found no problems with links. Good luck.
The logos are actually from local high schools. The horseshoe is just a horseshoe and not the colts horseshoe. How can you copyright a purple horseshoe? The Patriots logo is a logo used by our local high school and sold all of the time at other print shops. And I often wondered how they get around it??
TBH: your site screams amatuer, the only thing i like is your "view cart" button, but I don't think you made that.

1. you need better photos.
2. better font for navigation. (try not to go fancy on navigation, that is what content is for)

Try looking at other websites and take influence from that.

I appreciate the constructive criticism (if that's what it is??)

I have looked at other sites, but I didn't get into this to be like everyone else. I got into this to try to be original and creative.

I am working on the pictures. That is one area that I know needs some work.

The good news is that I have a very low overhead doing everything myself from the website to the designs.

Thanks again though and I may look into some of your suggestions. Maybe.
