I got the sppongeless refillable carts & heat transfer ink from inkjetcarts. They are the gravity kind & I filled them each with 15ml as instructed. I ran the purge files several times. I am having slight banding on the black & magenta & lots of banding on the cyan. (The yellow appears OK.) Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get rid of the banding?

Also, the cyan is spitting blobs of ink when that color is printed & when other colors are printed. During the priming of the cyan, you have to use an opened paperclip to push up the self closing valve. When I tried to remove it, it was stuck. I hope I didn't damage the cart & it is leaking.

Carolyn,

I do no know what printer you are talking about. I will base this on a 4 color.
Use the HowToTest.pdf on your CD Rom to properly prime. I don't think I can upload it here.
The valve is spring loaded and can be reset with a slight wiggle. It is open ALL the time whenever the cartridges are inserted into printhead.

Spitting, dripping, banding during printing are all "air ingestion" signs & you need to prime the printer by printing the purge charts. Total loss of ink flow requires a head cleaning, but if you have decent ink flow, use the charts instead and use "HC PLAIN BEST" settings for fixing problems. USe purge-4.pdf from IJC Support.pdf.

After full prime use nozzle checks & "HC PLAIN NORM" settings as periodic testing and prepress inspections.
