New printhead and dampers, colors are wrong

I have a Kiosk with 7 colors and no white ink, I replaced the printhead and dampers. When I do a nozzle check three of the colors print clearly, magenta, light cyan and black are only partially printing. I have done multiple (100's) of head cleanings with no change. Also, I have tried forcing the colors by printing just the colors that I am having trouble with. When I print black squares it prints fine but when I try to print 20% black (light gray) magenta prints. Any ideas of what to do for this?
If I print CMYK colors, yellow, magenta, cyan and black it seems it would just pull from the dark ink bottles, what colors should I try to print to force the light colors (light magenta, light cyan and gray)?
Thanks,
Michelle

I would think that it is the set up of your Rip program more than the printer. The program still thinks it has 3 white channels therefore when you do a light shirt and select that enviroment it swithces of the 3 white channels or in your case the LM,LC and G. I would go into your colour channels and see what they are set at. I think that you 3 lights are still set for the white underbase. You will have to change all the settings to get them to run properly.
I have never had white ink and I don't use the RIP software. I am using CorelDraw X3, will this make a difference? I am printing in CMYK mode, should I try something different?
Thanks,
Michelle
Have you checked to make sure there is no air at all in your lines? Have you tried pulling the ink up thru the dampers with a syringe to prime them?
I have the syringe but I have never used it how do you do it? What program do you print through?
Thanks,
Michelle
I use the Rip Pro since I have the HM1 with white ink. If you have a warranty on your machine it might be best to get instructions from DTG mesa or swf, which ever you purchased from, if not I will try to explain it. I dont have the kiosk, so my machine is a little different then yours also. Can you see the ink flowing in the lines? Is it moving thru those lines? Do you see any air bubbles in the lines? Also have you checked to make sure the valves on those lines are open? Is your capping station nice and clean around the seal, so that it is sealing well? Let me know on these things.
Michelle,

You say that you did 100's of head cleanings since you replaced the head and dampers, did the light bottles go down the same amount as the regular colors? Were the "tabs" on the new printhead trimmed?

Hope I can help!
The ink seems to flow through the lines fine, I do not see any air bubbles and I have cleaned the capping station. My son replaced the printhead for me and I am sure he trimmed the tabs but I will check. When I do a nozzle check the colors that don't print completely (they print 20%) are magenta, light cyan and black. Gray prints fine on the nozzle check but when I try to print gray (30% black) it prints magenta and cyan. Does it matter if you use Corel Draw to print from? It does look like it is printing an underbase on some colors when I print a color chart, is this a problem with my setup?
Thanks,
Michelle
Try using RGB instaed of CMYK. I donot know if it will help much but ya never know.
