HAs anyone used the new OKI White printer what are your experiences? In the market but also considering DTG printer.
Before considering with the new white toner printer read the following threads:

There are more. Search the forums using C8432WT or Pro8432WT as keyword.

DTG has high maintenance. Unless it is printing everyday it will clog and eventually becomes an expensive boat anchor.

I've used mine for the past year and have been very please with it. It's actually for sale as I just don't use it enough. (it's in the classifieds)

The white looks fantastic and has a pretty good hand as long as don't cover the whole surface in one big image. I've used it to do black and color as well. If doing color on black or dark shirts, I always back it with white.

There are also some alternatives to buying white from OKI which make it FAR more affordable to replace white.

Oki Data Technical support is the absolute worst  and I have dealt with some pretty bad technical support in my 13 years of digital printing. Below are a list of things I have experienced dealing with Oki Data Support.

* When the support team says they'll call you back they never do (last time I talked to Oki Data Support 1/24/18 and still waiting for them to call me back

* The issue I was having proceeded for 4 months before I properly diagnosed the problem.

* They are always having internal system issues in which they claim they can not support you because they can not pull open your case number (this was an excuse used 4 time during a 4 month period)

* The support guys contradict each other, none of them are on the same page and you always get a different answer or excuse from them

* At one point I was told by Oki support my spotting issue was a common issue with Oki printers (however Digital Heat FX who sold me the printer did not agree)

* There is absolutely no sense of urgency getting your equipment back up and running. I had to cancel many customer orders

* They refuse to send out onsite assistance even when offering to pay extra for it, in effort to get your printer back up

* The Oki Data support is arrogant and unreliable

* The guys there don't fully understand their own equipment

I can understand your frustrations. There are others have same issues.

I purchased a used 920WT about 4 years ago and have been using it without issue since. OKI support has actually been pretty good for me the limited number of times I've had to do anything with them.

The biggest challenge that I've found is simply the cost of the white toner (so, obviously, that must be built into the cost of the print). No one, to my knowledge, makes a compatible toner cartridge for the 920WT so we're stuck with buying from OKI.

I've printed thousands upon thousands of shirts using the 920WT and have had "0" complaints from anyone regarding either hand or durability. In fact, the business has grown a bit better than 30% per year - with no advertising - simply through word of mouth.

Definitely NOT a process you want to do with large orders (I farm them out to a friend who does screen printing). But if you're looking for a relatively inexpensive way to get into a small side business, I don't know you can go too wrong. (My payback for the initial purchase of the heat press, 920WT, and related materials was about 9 months).

DO NOT BUY OKI PRODUCTS! I purchased the C711wt printer less than a year ago. It’s broken and even though it still under warranty, this company will not fix or replace it. Basically, they told me that there’s nothing they’re going to do about it. This isn’t a printer you use everyday as the consumables are very expensive and I turn it on only if I have a job that requires it. Because it was PC based and I am a Mac user, I never quite learned how to operate it. Just kept pushing it off because of the difficulty. This printer had issues from day 1, with red light going on, indicating problems, then, the printer was off registration. Finally got around to call Oki to fix it. Their customer service was curt and not very pleasant. They had someone come out to fix the tray, but the issue with the registration still persisted. I didn’t think it was anything serious because on all other printers I had, it’s was always matter of alignment of the head, which you run with software. Well, when I called customer service, they said it might be the drum or the registration assembly. They refused to help me until I purchased and replaced the drums. Which I must bring up that this printer has run less than 50 prints. Mostly running test pages! They were quick to tell me that the drums were not covered. So, reluctantly, I shelled out $270 for the drums. Of course, when I replaced it, it wasn’t the problem. Now I was out $270. Then they said it must be the registration assembly and sent someone to replace it. Well, that wasn’t it either. Interestingly, even before the tech started working on the machine, the customer service person said they were not responsible because it was close to a year and that the warranty was almost up. I should mention that when I first got the printer, the top didn’t close flush, it was up on one side by less than 1/8”. I didn’t think this was an issue and I didn’t do anything about it. Also, I didn’t want to go through the trouble of returning it. I just figured it was a cosmetic issue that I could live with. After they ruled out the registration assembly, they came back and told me that it might be the cover and they’re not covering it because it was close to a year. Then they accused me of dropping the printer. Anywhere you look on the printer, there’s no evidence of it being dropped. This is a very heavy printer, if it was dropped, there would be cosmetic damage. Then they told me that UPS must have done it and that I should take it up with UPS. All in all, they did everything to not do anything even though the printer was under warranty. What is the point of having a 1 year warranty. I have also heard that there’s a lot of registration issues with this printer. So, I think they are aware of the problem. I think their management tells these customer service people to reject any replacement and deny. When I asked for the supervisor, the customer service person would not give me the information, only saying that she would escalate the problem. Basically, I am stuck with a non-working printer that’s less than 1 year old. Out $3,500! I have never heard of a company that was so resistant, unhelpful and does not honor their warranty. They don’t care if they screw the customer. So, for that reason, if you buy it and something goes wrong, this company will screw you! Never again!

HAs anyone used the new OKI White printer what are your experiences? In the market but also considering DTG printer.
I have just bought the OKI pro8432 after an intensive researches for over a year. Never tried it. But my decision came just after the researches I’ve done. If you have the budget just difinitly go for it. I’ll keep updates once I’m pro in it.

We bought the UniNet icolor 550 and we love it, yes there is a learning curve, and consumables are pricey, but for 1 offs and small runs, it is perfect, and no clogged white printheads, go with the premium paper you will be very pleased with the soft hand!

Have the smaller Oki and love it. Bought it through Conde and the support, even though I haven't needed it much, has been wonderful. Needed help with the RIP software initially, but after that smooth sailing. Still farm out larger orders with silk screeners. We use it all the time. No customer complaints.

Hey, I just want to go on record to say that Oki finally addressed the issue and replaced my printer. After my complaints, senior management got involved and made sure I was satisfied. It definitely renewed my confidence in their company.
