I think I want to start with the Semi-Pro™ 4 Color Silk Screen Printing Kit from Ryonet. Just wanted to make some shirts as a hobby and maybe sell my own designs locally. The software decisions are confusing. I just want to design a simple two color shirt and start printing. Color separation, spot color, process color??? I thought I would just print two different black images and make some screens. Trial and error at its best.

Thanks for the reply,
John

Check out youtube for videos from Ryonet, and also Catspit Productions How to Screen Print T Shirts: Screenprinting, Silkscreen, Custom Screen Printed Shirts

They both give a lot information to start out learning the basics saving you some time from trial and error.

For software I prefer Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, but CorelDraw will do everything you need for a much lower price, and you can find some good deals on slightly older versions. Some people have even used free programs like Gimp and Inkscape, but I have no experience with those two.
