New clothing line looking for all in one printing/labeling/tag removal

Hello, my name is Chase, and I play bass guitar in a band called State Your Cause from Columbus, Ohio.

Essentially, we are attempting to create a premium clothing line as an offshoot of our band and its merchandise. Our graphics are in the works, so I think we've gotten that taken care of (at least for now), but in the meantime, I've been charged with the task of organizing, pricing, finding printers, etc, and even after several days of reading t-shirtforums.com I could still use some assistance if possible!

We've done enough research to know pretty much exactly what we want for the brand, we just need to figure out how to get it printed as cheaply as possible. Here is a small list of what we have in mind to get us started:

-2 designs at 100 shirts a piece for the first run (200 total)
-Premium T-shirts: American Apparel or an equivalent brand (Royal? Alternative?)
-Tagless, so we will need tag removal services -Screenprinted wash/size/logo tag on the inside of the back neck (I know this will increase costs and am aware of the legalities involved)
-Small woven label on the waist cuff
-We're also planning to do hang tags and plastic bags for the shirts, but will most likely do these ourselves to defray costs, unless, of course, we find a deal.

So basically, does anyone know where there's a place I can have all this done in one? Would the cost of that be astronomical? We'd like to sell the shirts at around $25 and obviously make a little profit. We're not expecting much, but enough to cover costs and put a little back in to expand the operation.

Is it a better idea to try to compare costs of the individual tasks? It seems like that could cost us a fortune in shipping from place to place. The band is located in the Columbus/Dayton/Cincinnati area, would it be better to find a local printer and we could pick up the product rather than have it shipped? These are just a few things I'm wondering...

Any advice anyone has would be amazing and I thank you in advance. Hope everyone is having a wonderful Monday!

Chase

Hi Chase and welcome to the forum! For your order details I would suggest private label manufacturing. If you were just ordering blanks for a short run like this, there wouldn't be any cost benefit to go overseas. However, you're looking for the complete package--t-shirt, print, label, packaging...To do all this at your target price and still make a profit; private label manufacturing is your best option.

As both a long time printer and musician there are other areas to look out. Fulfillment is key for a band. It is a pain to organize the shirt buy, print, and get it to your location if you tour, as well as hire on site people if you get big to sell merch. Nothing like packing the van and finding out the 6 cases of shirt won't fit! Which to leave behind the bassist' amp, or the PA speakers? Bandmerch is one you can google, and there are many printers who get the deadline nature of bands. Like printing overnight on a Thursday to get the product out Friday so it arrives at your gig on Saturday. Avoid putting dates on anything unless its a tour. Rock on.
Hey Chase,
We provide all of the services that you require, and we offer waterbased/discharge oversize and all over prints as well. All of the finishing services that you need do add a few dollars to the total price, but they definitely add a professional, retail look to the shirt. Feel free to email us with any questions.
Thanks,
Justin

Thank you so much for getting back to me about this! Alan I've actually looked into Bandmerch briefly but didn't figure they'd do us too much good until we start getting a larger stock, but I will definitely check into them again.

Justin and Jason, I'd love to speak with you individually to see if we might be able to work something out and possibly get a couple quotes. I will email you or call you and hopefully we can discuss. Thanks again so much!
