Hello. i'm very new to the business and was wondering what would be the first step i should take in creating my own apparel company. i have a name and logo that i've created, but i kind of don't know where to go from there. thanks for the help.
It depends on the market space you are going after and also the type of media you want to make your shirts. Silk screen, establishments, sublimation, heat transfers, etc etc.
well i'm going for the younger crowd 17-30 year old. lots of graphics with complex design. right now i really just wanna focus on my local market which has a population of about 300k. with online sales as well. i'm not sure what kind of printing would be the cheapest. i do know that i want to print white ink on black shirts. thanks.
Silk Screen is going to have one of the best feels but they make you order a large run. Heat transfers is the more economical way to do it so you just press on a specific size when you get an order so you don't have to make 100 smalls, 100 meds, 100 larges, etc.... Depending on the feel or look you can get silk screened heat transfers that feel the same as silk screens or cut vinyl transfers.
Ok cool. Thanks for the info. i guess i would go with silk screened heat transfers since i don't need the large run that silk screen requires. do you know if silk screen heat transfer can output really complex designs with multiple colors?
