I agree with Adam, I also use "Tri-Flow Synthetic Grease" for my cutter. One of few lubricants that the manufacturer specifically mentions that it is safe to use with plastic, metal, and rubber. It can also stand high heat (0-400*). Petroleum based products may harm plastic. I also read online about a plotter tech that mentioned this being used on HP carriage bar plotter where the printheads travel back and forth similar to a cutter blade Assy. Actually, HP sells their own type of synthetic oil for their plotters. Just my opinion, I thought I can't go wrong with this stuff since my blade holder is plastic traveling to the carriage bar back and forth just like a plotter.
