that is the 15 pin vga hd cable that tells the printer where to be on the transport bed. you need to replace this cable and your issue should be fixed. mine went out from flexing too much. you can get one from AA, just call the TIGERS in the morning.

do you have a tutorial or link that i can watch on how to replace this? i tried to remove it today but no luck it was not fit on the rail, i dont know how to remove that..
it connects to a sub-board that is on the right side of the transport unit (if facing the front of the printer). there are 2 grey metal pieces than run the full length of the transport. 6 screws need to be taken out, and then the metal pieces will lift out. i left my old cord in place as i didn't want to undue the plastic tracks.

if you call the TIGERS at AA, they can walk you through the process. also, if you buy your own HD VGA cable, make sure it is "HD". you can blow the sub-board if you use a regular VGA cable (per the TIGERS).
Hi Nestor,
Welcome to NeoCircle. Did you buy new or used?
New, call Tigers right away. Used? Call Tigers to register.
Cheers! Inks are on me always.

Hi Sean, Long time :) hope you're good?

I'm having an issue with the printer not advancing while printing! There is no evidence of the VGA cable showing any wear but I might change it just in case!

Do you recall what length the VGA cable is?

Regards

John
hey, John! good to hear from you! i believe my cable is 6ft long. i did not run it inside of the "tracks"; i just taped it to the bottom so it wouldn't get caught by any moving parts. i think this has kept it from flexing as much.

Good to see you still visit here Sean :) This forum used to be hugely busy but it's very quiet these days.

I received a SVGA extension cable today from Amazon but when I fitted it and switched on, I had nothing displayed except the illuminated LCD! Re-connected the existing one and the display was good again but I still have the issue.

My thought is that the front bed sensor has gone West as when I interrupt it with a card, there's no red light - the rear one works okay.

I now need to source a sensor!

Cheers

John
Changed the front sensor with new but still no joy!

The only item I've not been able to replace is the VGA cable! Any VGA cable with male & female are described as extension cables - the one I purchased didn't work at all!

I may purchase a VGA cable and fit a gender changer at one end to change from Male to female.
UPDATE:
Success is so sweet especially when you've pulled all your hair out in sheer frustration.

I removed a 15 pin cable from a 2nd transport base I had, fitted to the problem printer and voila!

It's working great again

Thanks to those who contributed and I hope my solution will assist others.

Some did suggest replacing the cable and referred to it as an SVGA cable. An SVGA or VGA cable has a male plug on either end so I'm still wondering about that - did you guys fit a gender changer? An SVGA extension cable does have Male/Female but it didn't work for me which is a little strange.
