(Scroll down for pics) I'm doing a one color design for a car club they gave the original print on how the design should look I'm very new to the business so I have much to learn my problem is MY PRINT IS NOT COMING OUT NEARLY AS HALF OF DETAILED LIKE THE SAMPLE PRINT I'm using a water based white ink with a 160 mesh count i get my transparencies at fedex office (Kincos) could that be the reason?? But keep in mind the transparencies come out as detailed as I want the shirts to my exposure unit is the yudu it doesn't have a vacuum system so I add more weight in top of the screen when burning to make up for it my emulsion is about 7 months old could it be expiring? The emulsion brand is Pro Chem SWR-3 is this ok for this type of job... Please let me know why my print is not coming out like the original sample one my client gave me thanks alot

The emulsion cauld be expired, but to make sure call the manufacturer. One of the reasons why you detail cauld not be comming out is right is if the print on the transparency is opaqe (Black/Dark) enough.Make sure you are cleaning your screens well after the emulsion is dried, that your putting enough water pressure, that you exposing the emulison for right amount of time, that your cleaning you screens well after removing the emulsion. There are a lot of factors. Experiment and log everything you do to see waht works and what does not work. It could also be the qaulity of the equipment, not sure because i have never delt with that machine but when ever possible try to upgrade because the youdo is a "Hobby MAchine" not a "commmercial" one. Hope it helped.

When you hold the screen up and look through it with a light in the background does the screen look like the sample?
If not, You may be over exposing which will cause the details to close up. You could try again with less time but you really need an exposure calculator to avoid wasting a lot of screens trying to find the sweet spot. Also an exposure unit with a vacuum would be preferred over weight as the weight may not be distributed evenly.
If it does, your printing technique may be smearing the details together. Are you using a real squeegee or the over sized bondo applicator that comes with the Yudu?

Detail as far as edge detail? Is the sample you printed just an inkjet proof on paper or a pellon with a strike-off from your press?
If your transparencies aren't opaque, that can raise hell with your print. I was redoing a job using old film, and one of the seps had gotten thin areas in the positive parts, and after fighting to get a decent screen, I finally ran a new sep and it came out perfect.
Have you gotten good results from your Yudu expo unit and the same emulsion before? Look for any variables between now and the last time you successfully printed a job.

If your light source is the same, your exposure time is the same, the screens are the same, the film is as clean and as dense as it was the first time you printed the job, my guess then is the emulsion is bad, if it's a dual-cure or a diazo based one and it's past a month or two.
