The needle bar stopper may need adjusting or replacing. This is the round roller that sits above the needle bar in use and holds the needle bar low enough for the driver to catch and drive it down.
Needle jumping
I have a Barudan Elite Pro. I have 4 needles now that have given me the "Trimmer Slider" error. Once I get the error, when I restart the needle to continue sewing (after cutting the top thread myself) it hesitates a bit before it starts and then the next trim always results in a Trimmer Slider error. Doesn't matter what design and it's not a cutting knife issue. The knives work fine on the other 11 needles.
It almost sounds like something within the software, but I thought I would ask here before making the call to Barudan.
