Needing Hix H-1620 Vintage heat press repair ideas

I have a Hix H1620 Swinger Heat Press that the upper rod end for the pressure adjustment broke on. Any ideas on how I could repair this? Part number is TRE-6 46227

Already did and they don't have the parts any longer. Going to measure and try to replace with an adjustable tension rod used for engines. Looks like the attached image.
