Need help with scorching

Hello all,
Here are pics of the two shirts I did that turned yellow. They were pressed at 350 for 25 seconds. Can they be salvaged and what can I do to prevent it in the future. I am using JPSS printed with my Epson.

Thanks,
Karen in MA

ouch... are you using a teflon sheet?

do you have a pad cover?

is your press REALLY at 450?

i press my jpss at 375-385 for 30 seconds, and i've never had scorching like that. i press both 50/50 and 100% gildan and port & company.

i have a a proworld press. i check my press temp with a temp gun, instead of relying on the digital display (but it's always within 5 degrees)

i have a press pad ... like a little pillow case on the lower rubber pad. it's a piece of 100% cotton.

and when i press, i put down the shirt, then the artwork, and then a teflon sheet that covers the whole press/pad.

as for the scorching.. i have only scorched two shirts and they were on my flash unit.. but, i thought i read that white vinegar could be sprayed on the shirt, and then wash it.

i have not tried this, and i may be wrong. but i THINK i read that on here.
Karen, I've used hydrogen peroxide, for cuts etc. on scorched shirts. What kind of press?
Peroxide might help

I thinks this is press problem....Nothing more I just answer the problem! Looking forward to the right solution.
Hello,
I have no clue either as to what happened. I just pressed 12 shirts and not a problem with any of them, I did keep my laser thermometer next to me and kept checking. My press is nothing fancy, it is the one from Proworld with the special if you buy all the transfers, it is a few years old. I did find that the press is much hotter at the front versus the back of the press by quite a bit.

I did have two shirts that did not peel quite right and had a bit of ink left on the paper, is that a pressure issue or temp issue.

One last question and some may think this is silly but do any of you wear any kind of teflon glove when peeling hot peel? My poor hands are not liking this.

Thank you,
Karen in MA

pro world blue press is the same one i have as well.

in my limited experience.. when jpss doesnt peel correctly, its because i didnt have enough pressure... or, more often than not...

its because i dont peel fast enough, because its so freaking hot.

the beginning peels well, but by time i get to the end it starts getting stuck (if i peel too slow)

and personally, i have not seen any type of glove that would protect the heat, yet still give you good grip.

you could try hemostats :)

i burn my fingers everytime i do a transfer.

and while i love my press, all the burns on the backs of my hands tell me why people love swing aways !
