I am having trouble with printing 4 color process printing. Somewhere along the line from photoshop to the press I feel that I am missing something that would help me get a great quality print. Every design that I try to print up comes out very dull. I was wondering what can I do so that I can come out with a better print. Is it imperative that I have a conveyor dryer for this style of printing? I am using 230 and or 305 meshed screen. I try to edit the photo as much before I print the film. I feel that I need some help because I`m leaving money on the table not being able to add this type of printing to my arsenal.

dot gain is really important with this printing, pay attention to the output film and exposure time of the screen, make sure it is coated correctly and is washed out correctly, the higher the mesh the more attention you need to pay to it to make sure the emulsion is washed out!!!!!!! I'm sure that's the problem you are facing. Good luck my friend.
