Have printed some t-shirts and now the shirts are falling apart, fabric is very weak after shirts are cured and can be ripped with little effort.
Client is claiming $ 2500.00 for the shirts.
Obviously not the print procedure as we do thousands with no problem
These t-shirts are manufactured by client using organic t-shirt knit he also dyes them himself
Though these ones are white they do go through some sort of dye process
I am picking there is something reacting with the heat and changing becoming destructive.
It is not just the print area but the whole front of the shirt that tears easily
Please help with any info you have or experience with this
Many thanks
Ross

Yeh you think it would have to be bleech, but no, it is just standard waterbased heatset dye we have used for years.
This has happened before with this cliant but it was the black fabric all the other colours were fine

I would try putting the blank without printing thru the dryer you use, just to check if the heat is having an effect on whatever the organic particles are in the fabric.
That is my immediate thought with what you are describing.

Thanks Sunnydays
Good idea but this dose not occur immediately or we would have noticed while packing or at least when spot cleaning, the gun would have blown a hole straight through had it happened at the time.
I have been printing for over 20 years have never seen this before except with the black lot this happened to previously in which case I would have definitely checked but being white and organic you think the shirts would scorched before any damage was done
I will contact client re dye process and get back
I think enzyme washing rings a bell
