i'm using emulsion in silk screen printing. it's so hard to make a perfect image in screen. what i know is they use spray gun. i don't know where to buy one. i'm using a simple water spray, you know the one that we use to spray orchids in our garden. it took me an hour before i see the image. most of the time there are spots where there's suppose to have no wholes. i'm creating a che guevarra tshirt. do you have any tips so that when i spray the frame with water it will wash off the emulsion properly, without errors? i tried it many times and i can't create a perfect one.

you can reply in my private message so i can track replies easily. thank you.

Sounds like overexposure to me, and/or poor density with your film positive.

The most common problem is underexposure due to an inadequate light source.

What type of exposure unit are you using and what is your exposure time?

There is also a chance that your emulsion is old.

3 Questions in red.

hey thanks for answering me. i'm using a 22watts white bulb and i expose the frame in 5 minutes. i've asked the suppliers how their customers wash their frame, they said that they only use a water hose... as plain as that. 1. So i don't need a spray gun? 2. How do you wash the frame to expose the image? What is the best suggestion?

another question, 3. how do you use the so called photo-hardener?? do you mix it in emulsion?
A regular water hose is sufficient for washing out the image after exposing it.

A high pressure washer is almost a necessity for reclaiming a screen after the job is finished to remove the emulsion (along with the use of a stencil remover).

I don't know what a photo hardener is.

i dont think u ill be able to burn the image with a 22watt bulb in 5 min.
u can use a water hose but for better i'd go with a pressure washer.
after burning the image wet both sides then use the hose/pw to blow out the image. pretty much it
if you have no plans for reusing your frame, you use the photo hardener to make the image in your frame permanent. my problem is i don't know how to use it... should you mix it with the emulsion... i don't know.

i'm using a simple box in exposing the frame. how many minutes do you suggest if i'm using a 22 w bulb?
