does any body know good source for blank T shirts?

I have only seen prices for companies that provide their own t shirt for the screen printing. and the prices are around 8-9 dollars for american apparel quality.

Are there any t shirt qualities about the same as american apparel for cheaper. I guess what I am asking is, is there a non brand name t shirt that can provide the same quality?

When I am only buying the blanks will the price be around the same area or more?

Also companies that only provide blanks will have a diverse category of shirts?

Thanks

There are many wholesale distributors available online such as Heritage Sportsware in Ohio. That is just one of many. Sanmar is another one. American Apparel is not very receptive to wholesalers unless you have a store front.
Bayside and Bella/Canvas sell American, good quality T's at an affordable "wholesale" price, but you must be registered as a re-seller or vendor in your State. In other words, you have to be a legitimate business, charging and paying sales tax, not an "under the table" printer.
If you have a states vendor/resale licence, then just about any wholesaler will do business with you, especially if you pay at point of purchase. (credit card, ACH withdrawal)

Remember.....all wholesalers are competitive.....they want your business, so prices can vary between wholesalers. You gotta shop around. I stick with one distributor in Ohio because they always have what I need, and if ordered by 5:00pm, order will get to me next day. (Sometimes I do a will-call at the UPS distribution center if I need my order early in the day). Some that charge a bit more will also offer free shipping when you reach a specific amount per order (in some cases, just $150 will get you free shipping on online orders of non-sale items).

There's lots of excellent wholesalers. Take a look at some of the links at the left of this page. I agree with Robert, be sure to shop around and find one that has what you need and has a distribution warehouse close enough to give you next day service. Here's a list from Stitches Magazine of who they consider the top 25. Stitches May 2013

That's not necessarily true. I never had any problems getting a wholesale account with AA, and all I provided was a tax id, and the resale certificate from my state.;) That was many years ago.

But I also just help someone get setup with a wholesale account with American Apparel a couple of weeks ago. They have a brand new business, and they got approved within a couple of days of submitting their wholesale application.

Also, there are distributors that sell AA, such as TSC Apparel, that will set you up with a wholesale account. You'll get AA from them for MUCH better than the $8-$9 that was mentioned previously.

This might be true now. When I tried last year, they were not receptive of printers without storefronts or retail areas.

This is the first I've ever heard of this. I've been doing this for a long time, and have never heard of anyone with proper documentation having trouble getting a wholesale account with AA.

Like I said, there are other distributors that will sell AA to those with proper paperwork as well.

Getting AA wholesale shouldn't be a problem for anyone with a legitimate business.
