Ok, so heres my problem, I have an exposure unit now, a Poly Lite one, the 4foot by 4foot vacuum seal unit. And some of the lights broke when I bought it, after trying to find them I finally found them. 96 bucks a bulb. And I still have no idea why they were that high. The bulbs do have some kind of funky end on them, like the pins are surrounded by this round plastic thing. Ive never seen that type before. But anyways since I needed around 5 or 6 bulbs (I think) and since Im not paying that price for them I need your help figuring out what ballast I should get and what bulbs I should get. I know a UV bulb is what I need, but to be honest, I looked and I got really confused. Whats the difference between a UV light and grow light? Im assuming theres a difference or else theyd share a name. But basically my plan is now to change the ballasts and then get the cheaper bulbs. I use a work light right now and it does the job at right around 2 minutes. Im not sure how much faster this can be? but Im loving the emulsion I have! Its the fastest Ive ever had! But if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated!

And $96 ain't that expensive in the grander scheme of things. The metal halide arc lamp my exposure unit uses costs over $350 US. Good thing I've got a spare!
It is when you're just starting out and dont have that. I was lucky enough to get what I have for less than 3 grand. And I have enough for a small shop. Im sure eventually Ill get to the point where its not that bad, but right now I dont have that to spend per bulb. But eventually my goal is to need something expensive and be able to say no problem get it here tomorrow.

Can you take a picture of your socket, the bulbs where the numbers are, and the ballast. Let make sure your not working with a high output system.
The bulbs that came with it dont have any numbers on them, thats part of the reason why they were so hard to find, and I guess all I have is a light bulb companies word that its the right one. But Ill go and take some pictures of everything and post them.
