Well I am finally getting around to getting my Summa t1010 plus set up but I cant get it to cut. I am using SignBlazer for the time being with a serial connection, also capable of parrelel connection. I have set the Com1 and Com2 port in the computer and the software to match the cutter, but will not cut. When I choose a differnt com port it says no cutter is recognized, or that there is not a cutter connected. With com1 and com2 the cutter acts like it is cutting but will not.

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

danny,
I dont think the cutter and the computer are talking to each other, I hooked mine up usb,
i would try different ports till you figure out which one works, mine had a list, and i just looked till i found it,i kept plugging into different usbs, untill i found the one that worked.
I wish i could help more.

I dont have a USB port on my cutter. I have tried both serial ports on the computer and all the different port #'s in the computer. Com1 and Com2 act like they are working but nothing happens. I am going to try a parralel port today just to see if that maybe will work.

Thanks

danny , when you go into the cutter and setting it up try all your different ports in there, one of them should recognize, which to use, i did that last week setting mine up, untill i found the port it was pointing too.
It is something simple if sample cut is cutting,

Ok, so I finally got it to cut from what is on the screen. However it seems to be cutting 90 degrees difference from the workspace on my SignBlazer Elements software. I am going to try to call Summa tomorrow or the guy i bought it from that used it all the time. But if anyone has any ideas please let me know!!!! I am getting really aggravated with it.

Thanks again!!!

When I was testing our T1010Pro with the Serial cable, I found that it needed a certain type of Serial cable- not sure if it is null modem, or what, but one cable from our Creation series of cutters did not work, but the Serial cable from our Refine series of cutters did work.

The 90 degree angle thing could be a setting on the cutter itself, but there is also a setting in SignBlazer to tell the Summa to cut lengthwise or widthwise. I only tested our Summa with Flexi, and it was fine.....but I do not have a copy of SB with Summa drivers.
