Need feedback on site mockup

Here's a mockup of our basic site layout. Please note that a few things such as the contest and design pics are merely placeholders and aren't meant to be taken seriously.

Anyhow any ideas or comments would be appreciated. The site should be up and running in about a month.

Thanks
-Andrew

I think it looks nice and clean :)
I like it and has nice flow it it
My new site is gonna look crazy lol
my only complaints:
the blood works font is ugly
and you need some more space seperating the left and right margins of the body of your page, not the gray area, but the body of the page because everything just gets chopped or feels compressed.
Yeah I see what you mean about it looking compressed. I was thinking about chopping some of the gray sides off to expand it a bit. The font wasn't my pick. I thought it was too westerny but my business partner/artist is just crazy about it for some god awful reason.

There's no apostrophe in FAQs

The "Join our mailing list" looks very similar to the left-hand navigation; try putting it in a box or change the size/ colour of the font to differentiate.

If that is the home page - search engines do not like homepages without text (preferably descriptive).
It looks clean and very well designed... although it does look a little compressed.
To be honest I know nothing at all about web design. All I know is the guy who is making our site said I had to keep the banner below 800 pixels wide since quite a few people still run their monitors at 800 x 600. So I can't really get any wider if that is true.

maybe instead of having the "new contest" and "for more info..." text to the sid eof the image you can place it on the image. You can also have the whole image serve as a link to the more info page so you dont need the "for more info..." text.
yes.. you should have all banners on websites no larger than 800 px because of those people living in the dark ages.

I do like the look though.. Graphical borders make a site look really unique.. I do not like the overuse of that font though.. ALso, since its an uncommon font, it will HAVE to be an image, which is bad for SEO.

Do you mind if i ask what shopping cart you are using?

well your business partner needs to understand that he's not selling tshirts to himself, so people may or not be critical about it but that font is overused through your page. So if he's dead set on having that as the font maybe use it in the banner, but not the rest of the site..

Actually a good friend of mine is offering to do our site for free, although I do intend to pay him for his troubles. Not sure what cart he intends on using, but I do know he programmed his own so he just may use that. He did mention though that using those uncommon fonts would hurt our SEO so I want to get away from using them.

Yeah I talked about the font with my partner and we're going to be changing it. Also, need to figure something out for the text on the main banner. The text just doesn't really grab me like it should. Needs to be more dynamic if that's the word.

Any suggestions on the banner text and what to use for other text to maximize SEO?

Thanks
-Andrew
I like your design, its wicked.
have you completed this site yet?
the text is too "western-y" looking.. reminds me of something on a wanted poster..

I have some AWESOME fonts at home.. when i get there, i will get the name of them for you and you can look them up..

Off the top of my head, i remember one is called "Getting Myself"
I would go to dafont.com type in bloodworks for the preview and look at different styles until one stands out to you and go from there.
search for these fonts.. they might fit a tad better.

Living Hell
Rock It
Got heroine?
FT3 the hard way overrun
Cocain Sans

I think those all would work with your site, and they DONT look as squished and are a little more graphic looking.
