I decided to add vinyl to my existing screen printing business. Can anyone help me figure out a good pricing formula. I have looked at other threads and haven't found an easy way to calculate cost, weeding, masking, and application. Please help!

For customer cost... basic rule of thumb is to double your material cost...

I use it regularly and have tweaked it suit me. It will do everything you are wanting - works out weeding times, application tape and all of your vinyl...right down to how much profit you want to make on each decal....

Cost for customer...how do I figure out how much I should charge for cutting, weeding, and masking. I don't want to be "the cheap shop", but I don't want to be "the expensive shop" either! There has to be a formula...right?

The 4th question in this article gives a chart to for pricing. I use this formula for simple cuts.

Vinyl Sign Pricing

I add 50% if the weeding is more involved, and I double it if it's ridiculously intricate. I don't know if that's out of line, but so far I haven't had any complaints about my pricing.

There is no magic "formula". Your pricing should be based on what your operating and material costs are. Highly unlikely that two companies will have the same overhead/expenses, and the market value will be different depending on location (& usually by how many fly by night low ballers have devaluated your market) If you can't figure out what your cost is, then your just guessing. Pricing in any business is not "set it and forget it" - it constantly changes and has to be regularly updated.
