need a printer for positive prints

I'm new and trying to get though the learning curve. i need a positive print printer 17" for around $500.00 any ideas?

You can find an Epson Workforce 1100 or Epson Stylus Photo 1400 for around $200-300. Both print up to 13x19 and are pretty standard for beginners who want a larger print size. The Epson ink can get expensive, but compatible cartridges are available and continuous ink setups can be added later.

The Epson online store usually has refurbished 1400s for about $170 in stock.
