I just had a customer supply a proof from a printer she used a few years ago who is now out of business. The proof she provided is in jpeg format and has sample across it in a light green color. The image to print is a one color, black, spot print but is far to detailed to retrace. I am still learning adobe and do not have corel. Any an all advice or help would be greatly appreciated. I can upload the image if i need to.

thanks so much,
Mike

What is it that you're trying to do?
I am screen printing the image onto Tshirts with plastisol ink. I have only printed art i have created up to this point and it has all been in a vector format. I need to take the artwork the customer supplied, remove the "sample" test across it and prepare it to print on a film.

Unless they can provide some sort of proof that it is their original artwork I wouldn't remove the sample text.
The customer is a family friend and the print is for their business. I contacted the gentleman who used to own the company that originally printed it and he said that he no longer has the files from the business. He doesn't have a problem with me using the design and that if he had the original file that he would send it to me.

There are several overseas companies who will vectorize this for you for around 25 dollars.
That may very well be a viable option. Can you suggest one that you have done business with? I am curious as to the amount of accuracy in vectoring they can accomplish.

Id be willing to pay a member here in the forum that can take the supplied image and convert it to a 12x10 back print and appropriate chest print.

24Hour Artwork will vectorize most jpegs to vector for $13. This one is a little more complex so I would estimate it would probably be $25-$30. They do nice work. When I am busy or don't want to spend hours of frustration getting that duplicated I use them and am very pleased with what I get back. Comes back in 24 hours or less as well.
