let us know how it is...I have gone every year, but last year was an absolute flop!...the exhibit floor was half..or less...the size of ISS...and I had covered the floor in less than 3 hours...If better this year I might go again next year

It was WEAK last year......this year to drum up attendance I got Ulimited Education and 2 nights at the Marriot for 299.00 .......good deal.
We'll be there! I'm sure Debbie and I will run into you guys like we do every show! :D

I'll keep an eye on this thread as the dates get closer.

Eric
I think I am skipping it and just going to SGIA a couple of months later in Vegas. Like others mentioned, last year it hardly had any exhibitors.
We mainly use it as an excuse to close the shop for a few days....If we tried to close it and stay in town our home phone would melt...or they come knock on our door...it's crazy. Cruises and trade shows are our only relief!

Unfortunately, I don't have that problem yet. But I look forward to it.
M&R will be there this year with a small auto and digital set up. Hope to see you all there!
I don't think I'll be headed to the NBM show this year. I went a couple of times and the show floor wasn't large enough to justify the trip down there for me personally.

Definitely report back and let us know how it goes.

I may try to go to SGIA in Vegas later this year, but I'm not sure.
I bought the $299 package deal for all the seminars and 2 hotel nights free. I'm from Northern California and am driving down. Basically hoping to get introduced to new things like dye sublimination, rhinestones, etc through the seminars and expo.

Basically right now we basically are only doing direct to garment and some small poster printing stuff but are looking to expand business into other mediums.
Hey guys? My name is Bill and I'm coming to the NBM Show from Riverside, Ca. I also reserved the 2 nights and unlimited seminars package and am hoping that the knowledge I gain will pay for itself twice over. I'm hoping that this year turns out better than last year. Then again the less people that show up the better my chances are of winning the $500 in Show Vouchers... :D:D
I just signed up for Ryonets little get together.....going to be nice having a location in Calif....although the Washington one is perfect for us...1 day ship !
Ya Ronnie I was looking at taking the ryonet screen printing class as well but decided to go with the nbm unlimited for now. Cuz they're offer includes a wider range of classes. But ryonet does offer the training here in LA now. You'll have to let me know how it goes. When's the class?
We went to the show today. It was not very busy in the morning, but seemed to pick-up a little in the afternoon.

It was good to see a bunch of old friends, talk shop and check out the products. Got some good leads, information to ponder and ideas for some future projects.

Just flew back today. This years show seamed alot like last years. It literally took about 3 hours to walk the floor...and that's with stopping and talking to vendors. I was hoping it was going to be bigger than last years.

It was nice seeing some familiar faces like Steve, Irv, and Zach from the East Coast, and the locals like Ronnie, Eric and Debbie. I think I'll try SGIA this year...I've never been to that show.
Just got back last night.. As a first time show attendee I was very impressed. The rumor is true that this show is not that big. I've been to expo's in the computer world (Linux World and Mac World) and those shows are overwhelming with way too many things and way too many people. This was perfect to talk to the vendors and actually be able to check out samples.

We did NBM's unlimited seminar package and I would say 80% of the seminars were very worth it. We've strictly been a DTG shop but now have a lot more ideas to use for heat transfers, dye sublimation, silk screen and even embroidery. Even learned some great business tips that I hadn't thought of before.

I also just got back last night from Long Beach. I did the 2 nights and unlimited seminars as well and found that the educational seminars were well worth the price of admission. Just as expected I gained valuable information that will save me money in the long run. Not to mention 2 nights at a beautiful Hotel, definitely money well spent. I think my next move will be the Ryonet training. To tell you the truth I spent most of my time in the class room and only about an hour on the floor...

Do you mind telling me some of the seminars you attended? Which ones were useful and which ones you would recommend skipping.

Thanks!
Yes. Just got back. I went from 12 to 4pm... Long Beach is only 15 miles away, so I didn't blow it off!

Conclusion - It's always worth it. I talked to the Brother People who advanced my completed questions from February ISS. I talked to SWF MEsa and all I can say is that there is nothing like face to face questions with experts!

You get way more info and knowledge than spending HOURS painting catalogs and blogs with your eyes!

The NBM show was uniquely cool in that I talked to the Roland people and even the Die Sub people...

Dig it!

Its hard to narrow it down to which ones were the most beneficial, I think I took something from each seminar. I attended classes on the elements of design, heat press and sublimation, the basics of Corel Draw, screen printing 101, and sales techniques. None of which I regret. I even went to a seminar on DTG printing, I don't even have a DTG but just wanted to see what its all about.

Occasionally I found myself wondering if I had chosen the right class but after 20 minutes realized that I was learning something new. Like I said I took something from each class and wouldn't change a thing if given the chance to do it over again... Then again I'm infatuated with this industry and can't seem to get enough...
