They are professionally screenprinted. Turnaround is quick, sometimes the club decides at the last minute (1 to 2 days in advance) to do them. Most are one color printing, so my guess is $3 per tee. Not a huge profit margin for the printer. But they're probably getting a lot more business from the club anyway.

Here anyways there are always sponsors logos on them, so the cost to the club is probably zero.

These jobs are all set up in advance. It is all specked out and the winners get their stuff printed and the other side cleans up and goes home.

Stuff printed in advance is donated to those in need of clothing in other lands.

The teams (marketing dept etc.) use contract printers to do those "give away" shirts. Most teams have a standing relationship with a printer and they "the team" will tell the printer the amount they will pay for printing ( .50-1.00). The team buys the shirts and requires the printer to store the shirts at their (printers) expense. A good automatic can easily do 800-900 shirts an hour. So 20,00 can be done in a day with no stress. Hot Market printing is a little different.
