When it comes to names and numbers on the back of a basic t shirt do you guys print them on digital or vinyl them on being that we all have heat presses for curing. We were thinking of doing some full color prints on the front side and names and numbers on the back but names and numbers are solid and would take up a fair amount of ink (considering they are white) Has anyone experimented with doing both applications on the same shirt? Does the heat effect the digital print or the vinyl? Is there one method we should do over the other first? Just some thought we had...

The way we do it is we print the front of the shirt first, whether screen print or DTG, then we do the vinyl names and numbers. Since it is white ink, we find that we can do the names and numbers for less cost in vinyl than DTG and slightly faster, and there is just about a zero chance of mistakes with vinyl, which is also why we do it second.

We try to press only one side of the shirt when we are doing two sides, but it's not necessary for the short period of time it is pressed. This is only important when there is flock or a heavy print on the front, but for consistency with our staff, we do it the same every time.

Thanks for the info, so I guess the best way to do it is DTG the front and then press on the numbers and names on the back because you are only heat pressing that for a small amount of time, it would be no different heat pressing a DTG printing on both sides.
